These terms set out the agreement between you and us when you use PlumbMate. We have tried to keep them short, clear, and free of legal jargon — please take a few minutes to read them.
PlumbMate is operated by Holwell Educational Services Ltd (Company No. 17129105), registered in England and Wales at 66 Sheldon Street, Covent Garden, London ("we", "us", "PlumbMate"). We are contactable at info@plumbmatemastery.co.uk.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the PlumbMate website, platform, and any related services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, subscribing, or otherwise using the Service you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.
To create a paid account, you must:
If you are using PlumbMate as part of a course delivered by a college or training provider, separate terms may apply between you, the provider, and us — your college's arrangement does not replace these Terms for your personal use of the Service.
Your account is personal to you. You are responsible for:
If you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, contact us at info@plumbmatemastery.co.uk straight away.
During your trial, we will send you a short series of welcome and onboarding emails to help you get the most out of PlumbMate, including a reminder email shortly before your trial ends. You can opt out of these emails at any time using the unsubscribe link included in each email, or by emailing info@plumbmatemastery.co.uk. Account-related emails (for example, password resets and policy updates) will still be sent as they are necessary for your account.
Free tier. In addition to the free trial, PlumbMate offers a permanent free tier that does not require a card or payment. The free tier gives you access to one (1) unit of your choice from Units 201–210, including its lessons, flashcards, and revision content. The free tier is intended to give individuals a meaningful sample of the Service. We may change what the free tier includes, or discontinue it, on at least 30 days' notice — but if we discontinue the free tier we will not retroactively remove access from anyone who is using it at the time.
Paid plans. If you choose to upgrade, our current plans are:
| Plan | Price | Renewal |
|---|---|---|
| One-off year (recommended) | £49.99 | Pay once, full access for 12 months. Does not auto-renew. You can buy another year at any time. |
| Yearly subscription | £49.99 per year | Renews every 12 months until cancelled |
| Monthly subscription | £6.99 per month | Renews every month until cancelled |
All prices are in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT where applicable. Payments are processed by Stripe, our payment provider. We do not store your card details — only a Stripe customer reference.
One-off purchases. A one-off year is a single purchase that gives you 12 months of full access from the date of payment. It does not auto-renew, and you will not be charged again unless you actively buy another year. We will email you about 30 days before your access ends, so you have plenty of warning.
Subscriptions and auto-renewal. If you choose a yearly or monthly subscription, your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period and your chosen payment method will be charged the then-current fee, unless you cancel before the renewal date (see section 5). Stripe will typically send a receipt each time a payment is taken. For yearly subscriptions, we will email you a renewal reminder at least 30 days before the renewal date.
Existing subscribers — price guarantee. If you subscribed at our previous prices (£4.99 per month or £29.99 per year), your price is locked in for as long as you keep your subscription active. We will not move you to higher prices. This price protection ends if you cancel your subscription — if you later resubscribe, the then-current standard prices will apply.
Price changes. We may change the standard prices of the Service from time to time. If we do, we will email you at least 30 days before the change takes effect, so you have time to decide whether to continue or cancel. The price guarantee in the previous paragraph applies to existing subscribers; the founding price in the green callout above applies to anyone who subscribed during their trial.
Failed payments. If a subscription payment fails, we may suspend your access until the amount is paid. If payment is not made within 14 days, we may terminate your subscription.
Cancelling a subscription. If you have a yearly or monthly subscription, you can cancel at any time from your account page. When you cancel:
One-off year purchases. A one-off year purchase does not auto-renew, so there is nothing to cancel — your access simply ends 12 months after the date of purchase. You do not need to take any action. We will email you about 30 days before your access ends in case you would like to buy another year.
Your 14-day cancellation right. Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, consumers in the UK normally have 14 days to cancel an online purchase and receive a full refund. Because PlumbMate is a digital service delivered online, this works slightly differently:
If you do not waive the 14-day cooling-off period, you can cancel your purchase within 14 days of payment for a full refund, provided you have not yet accessed any premium content.
When we will refund you. We will issue a full or partial refund if:
Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected by anything in these Terms. If the Service is not as described, of satisfactory quality, or fit for purpose, you are entitled to a repair, replacement, price reduction, or refund as required by law.
PlumbMate is provided for your personal, non-commercial study and revision use. While using the Service you agree not to:
If we reasonably believe you have breached these rules, we may suspend or terminate your account (see section 11).
All of the content on PlumbMate — including quiz questions, revision tests, interactive lessons, cheat sheets, flashcards, text, images, diagrams, logos, and the design of the Service itself — is owned by Holwell Educational Services Ltd (or licensed to us) and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
While your subscription is active and in good standing, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the content solely for your own study and revision. This licence ends automatically if your subscription ends or if these Terms are terminated.
Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership in our content to you. The PlumbMate name and logo are trademarks of Holwell Educational Services Ltd and may not be used without our written permission.
PlumbMate is an independent revision and study aid for learners working towards a Level 2 Plumbing qualification. We have designed our content to reflect the general knowledge and skills expected at that level, but please understand:
We work hard to keep our content accurate and up to date, but regulations, standards, and best practice change over time. If you spot an error, please let us know at info@plumbmatemastery.co.uk.
We aim to keep the Service available to you whenever you need it, but we cannot guarantee that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or available on every device. The Service is provided on a best-efforts basis.
We may from time to time:
Where a change is likely to materially reduce the functionality available to paying subscribers, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email and you will have the right to cancel without penalty if the change is unacceptable to you.
This section explains what we are — and are not — responsible for. It is written in plain English, but the effect is the same as a more formal legal clause.
What we are responsible for. We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these Terms or failing to use reasonable skill and care, up to a cap equal to the total subscription fees you have paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
What we are not responsible for. We are not responsible for:
What we cannot exclude. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for:
Your right to end the agreement. You can end your subscription at any time by cancelling from your account page, or by emailing us. Your access will continue until the end of your current paid period, after which your subscription will lapse.
Our right to suspend or end your account. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service (with or without notice, depending on the circumstances) if:
Where we terminate your account because of your breach of these Terms, we are not required to issue a refund. Where we terminate without cause, we will refund the unused portion of your current subscription period on a pro-rata basis.
Even after your account ends, any terms that by their nature should continue (for example, sections 6, 7, 10 and 13) will remain in force.
We may update these Terms from time to time — for example, to reflect changes in the law, the features of the Service, or how we do business.
If the change is minor (such as a typo correction or a clearer explanation), we will simply update the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
If the change is material — meaning it meaningfully affects your rights or obligations — we will notify you by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect. If you do not agree with the change, you may cancel your subscription before the new Terms take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes that cannot be resolved informally will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
If something goes wrong. We want to hear about it. Please email info@plumbmatemastery.co.uk and we will do our best to resolve the issue within 14 days.
