Built by a qualified plumbing tutor

The revision platform your learners will actually use

PlumbMate gives every Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 plumbing learner on-demand quizzes, spaced revision and AI-powered feedback — and gives you full visibility of their progress. One seat covers all three levels and all 25 units, so it follows an apprentice from first term to their Level 3 design papers.

Everything your team needs
to support learners between lessons

PlumbMate fills the gap between taught sessions — giving learners a structured way to revise independently while you keep track of who's engaging and who needs support.

Tutor dashboard
See every learner's quiz scores, revision streaks and unit progress in real time. Spot who's struggling before the next session — not after the exam.
Knowledge heatmaps
A colour-coded view of each learner's topic strengths and weaknesses across every unit — with an AI-generated teaching plan tailored to your group's gaps. Switch the whole dashboard between Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 and the short courses for mixed cohorts.
Spaced retrieval built in
The Key Revision system automatically resurfaces wrong answers at the right time — based on proven spaced repetition principles — so knowledge sticks.
Group management
Create and manage learner groups, monitor activity across cohorts, and pause features during assessments — all from one simple dashboard.
Accessibility compliant
PlumbMate has passed a full WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility audit — meeting your college's obligations and making the platform usable by all learners.
Certificates & achievements
Learners earn digital certificates for each unit and course-wide badges — giving them recognition and motivation to keep revising.
AI-powered feedback
Short-answer questions are marked instantly by AI, with personalised feedback — giving learners exam-style practice without tutor marking time.
No app download needed
PlumbMate runs in any browser on phone, tablet or PC — no IT department involvement, no app store approvals, no installation issues for learners.
Simple, transparent pricing
Pricing is tailored to your cohort size with no hidden costs or per-feature add-ons. Invoiced directly to your organisation — no cost to individual learners.

Five minutes
inside the actual product

Filmed on the live site — a narrated session with its knowledge checks, everything a single lesson carries, a quiz marked with its explanations, a written answer marked against the mark scheme, spaced revision, and the study plans it writes for each level. No mock-ups.

Learners can use it in any browser, or install the Android app from Google Play. Want your team to try it rather than watch it? Every tutor and learner gets full access for 14 days — ask for a college code.

Friendly competition that
keeps learners coming back

The hard part of independent revision isn't the content — it's getting learners to open the app between lessons. PlumbMate's new games turn recap into something they actually want to do, and class-vs-class leaderboards give your cohort a reason to keep their streak alive.

🎮
A dozen game modes to choose fromMatching, Memory & Pairs, Timed Quiz, True/False Rapid Fire, Match the Image, Anagram, Crossword, Word Search, Know Your Numbers, Odd One Out and Survival — all drawing on the same unit content, so there's nothing for you to set up.
📡
Live class games you hostRun a real-time True/False, Timed Quiz or Anagram round from your dashboard — the class joins on their phones and competes live. A ready-made starter or plenary, and yes, they can try to beat the teacher.
🏫
Class-vs-class leaderboardsGroups compete on average XP, weekly and all-time. A bit of inter-class rivalry does wonders for engagement.
🔒
Anonymous by defaultLearners appear anonymously unless they choose otherwise — no one feels put on the spot for being behind.
🎯
Low-stakes by designGames earn their own XP and never touch mastery tracking — so your progress and heatmap data stay clean and meaningful.

Embedded English & Maths,
with no extra prep

Embedding English and Maths in vocational delivery is an expectation — and usually a headache. PlumbMate builds both into the plumbing content learners are already revising, giving your quality team concrete, evidenceable embedding with nothing extra for tutors to plan.

📖
English & technical literacy
Searchable plumbing glossary
Every key term across all 25 units in one place, with clear flags for words that mean different things in different systems.
Key terms on every lesson
Each lesson carries its own Key Terms panel, so vocabulary is taught alongside the topic rather than separately.
Definitions inside exam feedback
When a learner reviews a wrong answer, key terms in the feedback are highlighted — tap for an instant definition in context, exactly when it matters most.
Write-it-yourself answers
AI-marked short-answer questions build the explain-in-your-own-words literacy and command-word familiarity the assessment demands.
📐
Maths & numeracy
The calculations learners dread
The science unit works through linear and thermal expansion, specific heat capacity, density, pressure and force, and Ohm's and power law — the maths that trips Level 2 learners up.
Explained, then practised
Each calculation is shown worked through and then reinforced with quiz questions, so learners hold on to the method, not just one answer.
Numeracy in real context
Formulae are tied to genuine plumbing scenarios — pipe expansion, cylinder heat-up, flow and pressure — so numeracy feels like the trade, not a bolt-on.

Concrete embedded English and Maths you can point to in self-assessment and observations — delivered through the plumbing content itself, with nothing extra for tutors to prepare.

Everything in one place

Every account — learner and tutor — includes full access to all features across all 25 units of all three levels. Nothing is locked behind a higher tier.

Interactive module quizzesMultiple-choice questions with instant explanations on wrong answers
Interactive system builderLearners pipe up real cold and hot water systems — cistern-fed, unvented and combi — naming and sizing every pipe, then self-mark with instant error flagging
Working component cutawaysSectioned taps and valves learners operate themselves — rising and non-rising spindle, gate, ceramic disc, and single and double check valves. The internals move, water flows only once the seal lifts, and every part is labelled against the live drawing
Final Challenge tests40-question unit tests with 85% pass mark — exam-level practice
Key Revision systemAutomatically resurfaces difficult questions using spaced retrieval
Plumbing glossary & key termsSearchable glossary, Key Terms on every lesson, and definitions highlighted inside exam feedback

PlumbMate was made available to our learners during a Moodle outage — and they kept using it voluntarily afterwards. That tells you everything about how engaging it is.

Built with inspection
and accountability in mind

PlumbMate gives quality managers, IQAs and curriculum leads the evidence and oversight they need — not just a tool for learners.

Evidence of learner engagement
Every quiz attempt, revision session and login is timestamped and stored. Tutors can demonstrate learner engagement to inspectors and quality reviewers with real data — not self-reported logs.
Ofsted-ready progress records
The tutor dashboard provides a clear picture of individual and group progress — ideal for demonstrating the stretch and challenge of your curriculum intent and implementation during inspection.
Accessibility compliance
PlumbMate has completed a full WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility audit — helping your organisation meet its legal obligations under the Equality Act and supporting learners with additional needs.
Knowledge heatmap reporting
A colour-coded class heatmap shows tutor and quality managers exactly where knowledge gaps exist across the cohort — unit by unit and topic by topic. Use it in standardisation meetings and self-assessment reviews.
A full IQA sampling workflow
Risk-rated sample sizes, a sampling grid across three visits, staff credentials checked against each qualification's own handbook, standardisation records and an audit pack built for the EQA — planned on the CAMERA principles City & Guilds asks for. How the IQA module works →
Supports self-assessment & SAR
Quantitative engagement data — quiz completion rates, average scores, revision activity — can be fed directly into your Self-Assessment Report as measurable evidence of digital curriculum delivery.
Cyber Essentials certified
PlumbMate is Cyber Essentials certified — the UK Government-backed cyber security standard from the NCSC. Learner data is stored securely on Firebase (UK region), with multi-factor authentication on all administrative accounts and role-based access. Tutors can only see learners within their own groups.
